Before adding Whirlpool Drake and Whirlpool Rider I did review the other cards to make sure "shuffle into library" effects are included. As they appear to be valid additions to Wheel Effects (also confirmed via historical discussion by Neoheart) I hope my edits are helpful.
Restoring some parts of the list
I believe this is one example of a page that would benefit from a list. The mechanic is not common, with one or two a set, which means it's less intensive to maintain. There are a significant number of variations of the ability: exile (Invasion of Kaldheim, Herigast, Erupting Nullkite) vs discard vs shuffle vs put on bottom (Valakut Awakening), draw that many vs X number vs Investigate (Carnage Interpreter), each player vs target player vs you, the cards being put in exile before being put into hand (Bomat Courier, Hoarder's Overflow). The regex only captures 20 cards. Now, it may not warrant restoring the entire thing, but without a better search I believe it's worth reconsidering. - Tagger has wheel and miniwheel. Shield, you seem to be claiming that the more exotic variants on this ability are notable by their divergence from the baseline, but that's not really visible on the page. The article is currently sorted by color. How would we feel about a section that links to several Scryfall searches for the assorted variants? Corveroth (talk) 03:55, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
- The current regex pulls 103 cards and from the looks they really seem to be wheels or mini-wheels (not sure what the difference is). The discard vs shuffle is taken care of also the your vs their hand. Ultimately it searches for everything which is discards or shuffles the hand and then draws cards. Even the investigate variant is captured as the full oracle text includes the word draw and that is enough for the regex to be positive. - Yandere-sliver (talk) 04:40, 18 May 2025 (UTC)

- The new regex catches almost all tagged miniwheels and wheels. It's missing the exile-then-put category (Bomat Courier, Knowledge Vault Chandra, Heart of Fire), a "that player" reference (Elder Brain), and the "put on bottom" group (Arjun, Mindmoil, Into the Fire, Teferi's Puzzle Box, Valakut Awakening), which is probably acceptable enough. Having gone through all other iterations of "shuffle/discard/exile your/their hand" without "draw" it seems to be it. Hard to say if Ill-Gotten Gains or Behold the Beyond counts. With that, would the conclusion be to remove the list again? I intend to expand the description more to note the esoteric forms. Shield (talk) 05:21, 18 May 2025 (UTC)
