Legality

Can anyone help clarify the legality of the crossover IP secret lair drops? There was a lot of hubbub with Walking Dead being legal in Vintage, and I see on Scryfall that Stranger Things is too. I see several third party media sources saying Street Fighter is/will be legal in eternal formats, but Scryfall says they're not. Perhaps that's just an error.

Anyway we should put in a note about legality of non-reprint SLD cards generally. It's easy if they're all actually legal :) Just wanted to check first. - jerodast (talk) 23:16, 17 July 2022 (UTC)

Universes Beyond cards are legal in Eternal formats. The non-canon cards and the canon cards are considered equivalent game pieces, meaning you can only play four copies (or one copy) of either the Magic version or Universes Beyond version in your deck. --Hunterofsalvation (talk) 04:58, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
Thanks. It seems like for the most part Secret Lair has used the "new standalone cards" approach rather than the reskins, so that's the part I meant to address (although I notice Hadouken is a Lightning Bolt haha). I also see Universes Beyond says they plan to print all UB cards as real magic cards eventually though, so I will include that in my note here.
So as far as you know Scryfall is simply wrong marking something like Ryu, Road Warrior as not eternal-legal? - jerodast (talk) 06:08, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
It seems to me, yes. But I'm no rules guru. --Hunterofsalvation (talk) 06:21, 18 July 2022 (UTC)

Single-Card promo Lairs?

In the section for expected drops, the "Brain Dead" collaboration is listed. However, it looks like it's just a single card given out as a promo at SDCC 2022, (Diabolic Tutor, #721) and not a whole lair. Should this single card get its own page, should it just be added to the "bonus card" section of the main Secret Lair page, or should there be a separate page for promo releases (in case more single card promo releases happen in the future)? --The Rizz (talk) 12:07, 12 August 2022 (UTC)

I had expected there to be a full drop, but that is apparently not the case. We could do a separate header on the main Secret Lair page for Standalone promos? --Hunterofsalvation (talk) 13:22, 12 August 2022 (UTC)
Done! --Hunterofsalvation (talk) 14:26, 14 August 2022 (UTC)
