Article name
The url magicthegathering.com is no longer canonical: it redirects to magic.wizards.com/en. The title "Daily MTG" is only used for the News sub-site. What title might be best for this article? --Corveroth (talk) 04:21, 25 January 2025 (UTC)

- I can find a reference naming the official site the Mothership way back in 2003. Recent social media posts name "DailyMTG" (here, here, and a mention here; Twitter posts mirror the ones on Bluesky), although it's interesting that only one of those three links to a

URL like the actual "dailymtg.com" redirect! A bit older, but still newer than the '03 reference, Gavin's Tumblr (now inactive) linked to "DailyMTG". Despite the minor oddities in the redirect situation, I think the evidence indicates that "DailyMTG" is the official name of the website, and "DailyMTG" is an available article name. Does anyone object to moving the article over? (No, I don't think we need to sweep the wiki and update every reference. The name is still applicable, and the URLs are still... well, we've learned to archive things, right.) Corveroth (talk) 05:17, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- No objection. If you bookmark the page, it is saved as Daily MTG (with an added space, so you might consider that). I had the same problem determining the name of the Magic Play site. --Hunter (talk) 06:09, 7 May 2025 (UTC)
- This article is also relevant. I suppose that was also the moment that the url changed --Hunter (talk) 06:15, 7 May 2025 (UTC)

- I would throw out simply "Official Magic site" (or "Official Magic: the Gathering website" etc) as a possible title. For better or for worse, the modern web tends to be structured as corporate domains or platforms, on which sections exist for specific topics or communities, blurring the line between separate "sites" on a domain. The idea of a distinct "title" for a site that isn't a domain may be outdated, as is the concept that a place where news and announcements is posted (Daily MTG) would be viewed as a distinct publication. And clearly Wizards is fine with restructuring their site from time to time, as long as there is some hub of Magic content. A more generic name seems appropriate at this stage.
- Given that they still use "Daily MTG" as a page title and refer to it in some tweets, that does seem fine too, but I could see the day they just kinda drop that moniker. The historical mutability of the name seems like a reason to go more generic, and mention different names that have been used in the lead paragraph.- jerodast (talk) 18:17, 28 July 2025 (UTC)
Turning Ten
Just a note to self (or other interested editors) that the "Turning Ten" article by Maro, already cited here for the lead section, has a BUNCH of details that could make it into the article at some point. I found the perspective on the fate of some of the earlier features pretty neat. - jerodast (talk) 23:01, 11 August 2025 (UTC)
