Talk:List of deprecated mechanics

Admittedly, I haven't looked deeply into all the various interviews and comments made from WotC staff, but I don't know that Manifest and Morph have been REPLACED. I figured they were replaced for Karlov Manor because they made more sense for that set, but that Morph and Manifest would return in other sets where their flavour would fit better than Disguise and Cloak.

I would concur in that they aren't deprecated, but they live in the house of mechanics that many others exist in that is "we wouldn't do these again" like Tribute, Party or Converge. These are not considered deprecated. They can be made powerful, but the intrinsic gameplay is rather weak. In contrast, I believe the flavor of Morph will not be a reason to revisit them in favor of Disguise. Manifest might, simply because it doesn't play any different, but if Disguise supplants Morph, you wouldn't have Manifest. 114.76.198.69 23:26, 1 May 2024 (UTC)
