Variant spelling
In the novel Future Sight, page 107, this body of water is also named Kukemessa. Before making substantial edits or movements of the article, does anyone know of other references? If either spelling is substantially more common, that should be the name of the article. Corveroth (talk) 21:27, 23 April 2025 (UTC)
- Maybe make a note of that? Like trivia? Because the associated cards have the current spelling, so it could be a typo in the novel. I'll look to see if I can find anything else. --Neoheart (talk) 00:37, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- If it's simply a single typo in an old book, I don't think it's notable enough to warrant mention. There's zero ambiguity in context. If the same spelling is used elsewhere, that might elevate it into something worth discussing. Corveroth (talk) 01:10, 24 April 2025 (UTC)
- So far: all of the cards linked here (Mirage and Visions) use "kukemssa", as does the "Weatherlight ship log". Every instance in Future Sight is spelled "kukemessa". Not yet stated in the article, but the translation of "kuchemsa" is from Swahili. At this point, it could be a speculative linguistic evolution thing between the Phyrexian Invasion and the Mending? Still hoping for more sources. Corveroth (talk) 01:18, 25 April 2025 (UTC)
