Strictly worse?

I can't decide if I want to call the new desert cycle strictly worse than the cycling lands of Urza's Saga or Onslaught. Just based on their cycling costs, they are. But the subtype is a positive in Amonkhet block; I think the only cards that would punish you from having deserts are from Arabian Nights, aren't they? We don't usually consider creature subtype in comparisons. Not sure if we should here. --BlackDiamondDragon (talk) 14:35, 17 June 2017 (UTC)

I think you have a good point and some subtypes are exempt from this rule anyway. Nobody would consider Mountain a functional reprint of Forest. I would argue the "ignore subtype" rules works mostly for creature types, where there a billions of and it doesn't matter most of the time except for certain tribes. - Yandere Sliver 15:08, 17 June 2017 (UTC)
