Talk:Guildpact (spell)

Question, I read the novels too but I'm confused; is the Guildpact a spell and/or a legal instrument?

Also, what do you guys think of Guildpact being moved to Guildpact (set) and Guildpact (spell) to Guildpact? Or we can ignore that if we do a mass pipe-trick education thing. --Magic Mage (talk!) 05:21, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

It was originally a spell, caster by Azor I using blood from all the paruns to make effect, it forced and enabled the guilds to execute certain actions (like a Wojek's handcuffs being unbreakable by criminals), but it was broken. Teysa drafted a non-magical guildpact that had little effect to re-establish order.--Japoniano (talk) 07:37, 10 September 2012 (EDT)
Oh, trouble. Should we then have this as the main Guildpact article? (Being the centerpiece of one or two blocks, it surely sounds more important than the set. Of course, we'd then have to change link accordingly.) I mean, as it is with the "(spell)" appended at the end, it doesn't make sense for Teysa's legal instrument version. --Magic Mage (talk!) 08:17, 10 September 2012 (EDT)

Teysa's guildpact

In is my understanding that Teysa's guildpact predated the Living Guildpact. --Hunterofsalvation (talk) 13:16, 31 March 2021 (UTC)

You could be correct, I had assumed it was the same as the document named in Family Values, which directly references the Living Guildpact, but they could be entirely separate documents or that could have been an addendum. DayoftheNinja (talk) 02:02, 2 April 2021 (UTC)

Guildpacts

Guildpact could refer to: The original magical spell that bound the Guilds for 10,000 years (1-9,999 ZC ish) The non-magical charter written by Teysa Karlov after the first one fell (Around 10,012-ish ZC to 10,075 ZC) The failsafe left behind by Azor to embody the magic of the Guildpact in a person (10,075 ZC to present, with the except for the time between Jace lost it and Niv became it)
