Talk:Greek National Championships
Player pages
I've decided to concentrate on creating pages to record each country's Nats, rather than trying to do both this and creating/updating player profile pages at the same time. I feel like trying to do both I'm rushing the player pages and they're a bit light on actual content. Which isn't ideal for us, and the players themselves. I think they're worthy of getting the acknowlegement -- otherwise I'd not be creating them pages -- but as such they're also worthy of getting a proper bio written! :)
I thought I'd note some players in this talk page, however, who I think are candidates to have their own pages. I may come back to this myself, but I'd certainly be excited if anyone was inspired to jump in and write something up too!
- Ioannis Filippidis has two Greek titles.
- Vasilis Fatouros, Evangelos Papatsarouchas, and Makis Matsoukas each have a Pro Tour Top 8.
- Panagiotis Papadopoulos and Makis Matsoukas both have over 100 pro points.
- Vasilis Fatouros and Georgios Kapalas have more than one GP Top 8 each.
- Georgios Kapalas, Panagiotis Papadopoulos, Vasilis Fatouros, Makis Matsoukas and Socrates Rozakeas have 10 or more pro tour appearances.
- Bill Chronopoulos, Panagiotis Papadopoulos, Nikolaos Kaponis, and Tziotis Petros were the team that won the Worlds team competition in 2016.
Of course, there may be other players in the Greek community who are notable for organising events, judging, putting decks together, writing articles for local zines/websites etc... but harder for me to quantify that sort of stuff as an outsider.
(You'll no doubt note the site gatheringstats.com in the references on this page - this is a fantastic resource for seeing how "notable" a player is based on professional results)
As always: apologies if I've got names incorrect with misspelling, using nicknames or anglicisations etc. Maybe it'd be better to have names recorded in the Greek alphabet with Latin transliterations in parenthesis? Again: I'm just a silly dude from NZ just trying his best so please feel free to fix anything that needs fixing! :)
(I promise I won't write a novela like this on every single talk page in future, too.)
