It'll Quench Ya!: Strictly better or functional reprint?

My understanding is that strictly better doesn't care about creature types. Shouldn't the Lesson type, which is pure upside (not even remotely niche upside either, as Lesson is designed to trigger stuff and have stuff exclusive to it), put it into strictly better instead of functional reprint? --VladVladson (talk) 02:10, 17 August 2025 (UTC)

It is a good question. I would argue "except for type" clause would also apply to spell type. We also have a precedent in the wiki as for Arcane we decided that we also ignore the type differences, as we classified Quiet Purity as a functional reprint of Demystify on the Champions of Kamigawa article. - Yandere-sliver (talk) 03:47, 17 August 2025 (UTC)
