Contradictory sources

Prior to my edit tonight, this article claimed that activate was added in Sixth Edition. This is supported by Maro's "Evergreen Eggs" article from 2015. However, the Rules Change reference suggests that at some point before 2009, activated abilities were "played". From this old copy of the 6ED rules I dug up, I think what happened is that Sixth added "activated ability", but not the "activate" keyword per se. If anyone can dig up a source that clarifies this tension, the article would appreciate it! --Corveroth (talk) 06:21, 8 April 2025 (UTC)
