2005 Japanese National Championship final
Morofuji faced Jun'ya Iyanaga in the final match of the 2005 Japanese National Championship. Morofuji was running Tron, while Iyanaga was on Mono-Red Aggro. With Iyanaga up 2–1 in the match, and thanks to Blinkmoth Nexus and Sword of Fire and Ice, it looked like he won the fourth game as well to become the 2005 Japanese National champion. However, there had been an error earlier in the game with a Frostling targeting itself with its own ability despite wearing Sword of Fire and Ice. Morofuji had used Mindslaver, and in order to prevent Morofuji from killing his Blinkmoth Nexus with the Frostling, he had sacrificed it. However, this was an illegal play, and thanks to the match being filmed and both hands being well documented, the judges were able to reconstruct the situation from before the illegal play. Morofuji was thus able to come back, after having briefly lost the match, and won both game 4 and game 5 to be crowned National champion.[1]
