Dr Rich Shay is an American Magic: the Gathering player best known for his achievements in the Vintage format. He is a two time runner-up in the World Championships in 2007 and 2017. Dr Shay was also one of only two players (the other being Randy Buehler) to participate in all nine seasons of the Vintage Super League for Magic Online.[1]

Since 2020 Dr Shay has put his focus into the community formats of Old School and Premodern, and as of June 2025 is the reigning North American champion for both.

Outside of Magic, Dr Shay holds a PhD in Computer Science and is an expert Hummus chef.[2]
