Player's Guide
- For the original Pocket Players' Guide, see Revised Edition/Pocket Players' Guide.

The Player's Guide was a set related publication of Wizards of the Coast that was released as part of fat packs. The Player's Guide contained background information on design and mechanics, and always a complete visual encyclopedia of the relevant set. They sometimes also included decklists and stories. They typically feature three holes, so that they can be inserted into a binder.
History
Player's Guides were introduced as part of the fat pack for Mercadian Masques.
Starting with Ravnica: City of Guilds, the visual card encyclopedia in the back of the Player's Guide was changed from completely alphabetical to by color then alphabetical within each color.[1]
For Kaladesh in 2016, the Fat Pack was revamped as the Bundle, but the Player's Guide remained an integral part of the product.
The Player's Guides were discontinued with the release of Core Set 2020. According to Mark Rosewater, the guides were much beloved by a small subset of players, but were generally disregarded by the majority of buyers. Wizards of the Coast kept them for many years despite the poor showing in the market research.[2][3][4] Later sets had two reference cards.
