General Information
Status Inactive: Betrayers of Kamigawa to Morningtide

Paul Sottosanti worked at Wizards of the Coast from 2003 to 2008 and was a designer for Magic as well as many other paper and digital games.

Career

He was initially on the development team of Betrayers of Kamigawa. On Planar Chaos, his first design team, he pushed for the temporary addition of a sixth color, purple, but in the end it was proven it wasn't unique enough to be its own color. or His suggestion that Lorwyn should focus on races and Morningtide should focus primarily on classes drove much of the design for that block.

When Magic Online added the Vanguard format, he led the team that designed the avatar abilities and continued designing all of the new avatars (including the popular Momir Vig) until he left the company in 2008. He then joined Maxis and was the systems designer and eventually lead designer for a sci-fi action RPG entitled Darkspore. In July 2011, he left Maxis and worked briefly as an independent game designer focused on board games and small digital games.

Paul is currently working as a game designer for Riot's Legends of Runeterra, leading the design of Expeditions, its Limited format.
