Nicholas Wong is a Singaporean former professional player and National Champion. He was well known for his lucky soft-toy duck, which he took as a mascot to each tournament he played.

Career

Nick had significant success on the Grand Prix circuit with four Top 8 finishes during the two years from April 2000 through to March 2002. This included first place at the team limited GP Nagoya alongside Americans Alex Shvartsman and Trevor Blackwell, who defeated a Japanese team in the final. Nick was down a game against Goro Matsuo, but in a winning position in the second, when the match was called; Alex and Trevor had both won their matches.[2]
