A prequel novel to the original iteration of the Magic: The Gathering Netflix series was announced on August 24, 2021. It was written by acclaimed fantasy author Django Wexler.[1][2][3]
Description
Though originally planned for release in 2022, the eventual release of this novel has become uncertain because the premise of the Netflix series has been profoundly changed with a shift of the protagonist to Chandra Nalaar.
Expanding on the events that would have unfolded in the Netflix series as initially envisioned, the prequel novel would dive into how Gideon Jura and Jace Beleren bonded — and distanced — as they shared causes, but had distinct perspectives and abilities.[1]
