Modern Jund deck
Jund is a deck for the Modern format which has its foundation in the Standard Jund deck, both of which named for the Jund shard of Alara, consisting of the colors black, red and green. It is an Aggro-control deck using black to force the opponent to discard as well as destroying creatures, red to deal damage directly and destroy lands, and green for utility and big creatures.
On January 28, 2013 DCI banned Bloodbraid Elf to keep the format diverse. In the previous 4 Modern Grands Prix, 3 of them had been won by Jund (1 of which won in a Jund v Jund final) and in the last Jund came second. With the banning of Bloodbraid Elf Jund moved away from the original Standard Jund deck. With Return to Ravnica and Innistrad Jund acquired Deathrite Shaman and Liliana of the Veil and assumed its current form. The DCI bannings succeeded in making the format more diverse, although Jund hasn't won any Grands Prix in 2013.
