J. Michael "Mike" Davis († 2017) was one of Richard Garfield’s best friends and was the one who convinced him to contact Peter Adkison of Wizards of the Coast in Seattle. This led to the creation of Magic: The Gathering.[1][2][3]

Mike Davis would later take a job at Wizards of the Coast as the Vice President of R&D.

Jayemdae Tome is named after him.[4][5]
