Two preconstructed Theme Decks will be released alongside Lorwyn Eclipsed. These are 60-card, Standard-legal decks, one themed around Pirates and the other around Angels. These typal themes were chosen for being easy to understand and having a broad appeal.[1] The decks are designed to introduce players to Constructed formats, and to play well against each other and against future Theme Decks. In particular, they're aimed towards Commander-only players, whose point of entry into Magic is often also a preconstruced deck.[1] The flavor of the decks is not specific to Lorwyn;[2] they include cards from across Standard, and are designed to be legal for at least one year following their release.[3][1] Additionally, players who participate in Magic Academy: Learn to Play events during the Lorwyn Eclipsed season will receive one of the two Theme Decks at random in their Magic Arena accounts.[1]

Each Theme Deck includes the following[4]:
- 1 Ready-to-play 60-card Standard deck
- 5 Non-foil double-sided tokens
- 2 Reference cards
- 1 Tutorial insert
- 1 QR code linking to a DailyMTG article with a play and upgrade guide, written by Michael Hinderaker[1]
