Limited Edition (also First Edition or 1st Edition) is the first Magic: The Gathering card set and core set, released in 1993. Limited Edition had two printings: Alpha and Beta.
Officially, this product's two printings were simply named Magic: The Gathering. The name Limited Edition was retroactively added based on the official name of the next base set, Unlimited Edition.[1][2]
