Slivers is a tribal deck that is centered around one of Magic's most iconic tribes: Slivers.

Overview

The strategy is present in Legacy and Modern.

The popularization of the slivers archetype is intrinsically linked to brazilian player Daniel Nunes.

Nunes was a consistant Sliver players from the years 2015 to 2021 and was, quite often, the owner of the one single Slivers list featured in MTGTop8's "Last 2 Months" decklists across those years.

In the period from 11/10/15 to 09/01/21, Daniel was particularly active and held 27 out of the 63 total instances of the Legacy Slivers deck in the site's database - representing roughly 43% of the site's entries of Legacy Slivers decks in that time span.

He even managed to attain 8th place at 2017's Brazilian National Championship (Nacional Legacy). This helped give visibility to the archetype and kept it alive in the Legacy scenario. Enthusiasm with the deck and persistance encouraged many players to try both the deck and the Legacy format.

The Slivers decklist is 5-colored, has access to Force of Will, is resilient against counterspells, and does not rely on Reserved List cards.

This is Daniel's 2017's Nacional Legacy Top8 decklist:

8th Place: Slivers - Daniel Nunes - Nacional Legacy (Brazil) - 25/11/2017
