Theme decks

There were four 60 card preconstructed theme decks released which included cards from the Tempest, Stronghold and Exodus expansions. Included with each deck were two booklets: one summarised the storyline, while the other contained deck lists and strategy guides for all four decks. An advanced version of each deck was also suggested to upgrade it for a competitive Standard environment. (The cards for the advanced deck lists were not supplied.)

“  Each of the four decks has a basic form, using only cards from the Tempest, Stronghold, and Exodus expansions. Each also has an advanced version that is more suited to the intense competition of tournaments. These make use of powerful cards from various in-print sets to make each deck even more effective.[1]  ”

Dominator

Dominator is a blue theme deck from Exodus.

“  Dominator is a blue deck of a different stripe, one that sets up for victory using plenty of creatures.[2]  ”
Dominator - Basic Deck

Instants (13)

2 Capsize

4 Counterspell

2 Forbid

3 Mana Leak

2 Mind Games

Sorceries (3)

2 Fade Away

1 Time Ebb

Artifact (1)

1 Erratic Portal

Lands (26)

26 Island

The 3 rares in this deck are Dominating Licid, Equilibrium and Erratic Portal.

“  The tournament level version of “Dominator” increases the amount of counterspelling and mana denial. The major change from the basic deck is the addition of four Winter Orbs to constrain the opponent’s mana Combined with Propaganda, this can effectively shut down any creature based decks. The available counter spells significantly outnumber those in the basic deck, and the addition of Force Spike means you can mount a counterspell threat as early as the first turn. [3]  ”
Dominator - Advanced Deck

Groundbreaker

Groundbreaker is a black and red theme deck from Exodus.

“  Groundbreaker is a classic land-destruction deck, with added creature removal to take on low-mana, fast horde decks.[4]  ”
Groundbreaker - Basic Deck

The 3 rares in this deck are Monstrous Hound, Thopter Squadron and Volrath's Dungeon.

“  The advanced version of “Groundbreaker” is similar to the basic deck, with a balanced mix of land destruction, creature removal, and creatures. The main difference is the addition of green, with corresponding adjustments to the mana base. The advanced deck also takes advantage of the respective land and creature removal powers of Wasteland and Quicksand.[5]  ”

White Heat

White Heat is a red and white theme deck from Exodus.

“  White Heat is a variant on the white "weenie" deck, chock full of cheap white creatures but supported by plenty of red-hot direct damage.[6]  ”
White Heat - Basic Deck

The 3 rares in this deck are Limited Resources, Paladin en-Vec and Wall of Nets.

Note: The official deck page incorrectly lists Reconnaissance as Reconaissance.
“  The advanced version of “White Heat” is similar to the basic deck, but even faster. This can be seen in the increased number of very low-cost creatures- ten cost just one mana, twelve cost two, and only two cost three. The lower casting costs mean this deck can run effectively on even fewer lands than the basic version.[7]  ”

Widowmaker

Widowmaker is a blue and black theme deck from Exodus.

“  Widowmaker takes full advantage of powerful card-drawing effects while letting you strengthen your forces by discarding what you don't need.[8]  ”
Widowmaker - Basic Deck

The 3 rares in this deck are Mindless Automaton, Null Brooch and Oath of Scholars.

“  The advanced version of “Widowmaker” is built around the sorcery Living Death from Tempest. As with the basic deck, you are trying to cycle cards in your hand as quickly as possible. However, Living Death lets you make use of creature cards you discard. by bringing them into play from your graveyard.[9]  ”
