Enchant World tournament

An Enchant World tournament was a casual tournament variant in which all the participants are affected by the continuous effect of a world enchantment (known as "Enchant World" at the time). It partially inspired the Planechase format.[1]

Description

World enchantments were introduced in Legends and they were flavored as representing the plane on which the duel was taking place. Inspired by these new cards, some stores hosted Enchant World tournaments in which the players would play a format of their choice with the additional rule that now and then it would be announced that the plane they were in was changing. Initially only world enchantments were used but over time tournament organizers evolved the format to use other enchantments and artifacts with continuous effects.[2] These cards' effects were universal and affected all the players in the tournament. Similar to the later-designed emblems, the Enchant World effects couldn't be affected by spells or abilities controlled by the players in the match.
