Duel Decks: Elves vs. Goblins is the first set in the Duel Decks series. It was released on November 16, 2007, with an MSRP of US$19.99.[2][3] It was reprinted with new card frames in December 2014 for Duel Decks' Anthology.

Elves vs. Goblins contains two preconstructed theme decks, one centered around Elves and the other around Goblins, featuring cards from the previous six years of Magic, from Apocalypse to Lorwyn.

Description

Elves vs. Goblins features two cards with alternate art; Ambush Commander and Siege-Gang Commander.[4] To emphasize the duality of the conflict between the Elves and Goblins, the design and development team deliberately tried to include Elf/Goblin mirrored pairs, such as the deck's rares, Ambush Commander and Siege-Gang Commander, and Heedless One and Reckless One.[5]

In addition to this, the Duel Deck contains a Magic "learn to play" guide, a strategy insert and three creature tokens. The creature tokens are:
