Deadguy Ale

Deadguy Ale is a nickname for a type aggro-control deck which pairs discard or land destruction effects with efficient and disruptive creatures. It is primarily known from historical Extended and Legacy formats, but is also commonly played in retro community formats like Old School 93/94 and Premodern.

History

Deadguy Ale named after the "#2 Rogue Deadguy Ale: A Homebrew" Legacy deck that Chris Pikula placed 2nd with at Grand Prix Philadelphia 2005. The deck's name is a pun on a popular beer made by Rogue Ales in Oregon. Pikula was part of Team Deadguy and the deck was considered to be a Rogue deck and a brew (a new, non-established deck).
