Christopher "Chris" Kvartek is a former American professional Magic player. In January 2022, he became a Game Designer for Wizards of the Coast.[1]
Professional play
Kvartek burst on to the professional Magic scene in 2019. He attended six of the seven Mythic Championships of that year with Top 8s in both Mythic Championship II and Mythic Championship VII, plus a Top 16 finish at Mythic Championship VI. He qualified for both Mythic Championship V and VII the hard way through making the Top 16 at the Mythic Qualifier Weekends. His 2019 performance earned him a spot in the 2020 Magic Pro League. However, after the 2020-21 season he was relegated to the Rivals League. In January 2022, he began work at Wizards as a Competitive Play Game Designer, hence resigning from the League.[2]
