Talk:Ral Zarek
Ravnica?
What evidence says that? Looking like a member of the Izzet isn't really good evidence, considering the Agents of Artifice said that the Guildpact fell. 67.237.109.144
- Well, how about the fact that the buildings behind him seem to have the same architectural design as the city of Ravnica?
Is he a young Urza?
With recent events and hints in the cards and story itself, (i.e. Karns ability to travel back in time, time spiral, and the fact that all that was known about the origin of phyrexia was "They came from an unknown plane made of metal" meaning the New Phyrexia set couldn't just be a rebirth of phyrexia, but the actual birth of phyrexia.) evidence points to Ral Zarek being a young Urza. As a matter of fact let's use another example for a planeswalker whose name is a play on words: K-oth O-f T-he H-ammer... K-O-T-H... and playing with Ral Zarek you can easily see... Ral... "R", Zarek... "Za"... combine the parts in quotations and you have "Rza" = "Urza" Which leads us to believe that the story has been reset and we will witness the story re-told with new planeswalkers and new outcomes!
- No. Just... No. So very no. Barinellos 23:49, 3 September 2011 (EDT)

- No, I assure you, he was not.98.81.3.244 01:50, 26 October 2011 (EDT)

Trivia
Do we care to note that he apparently is gay? I found it sort of interesting, and he is one of my favorites. --J spencer93 (talk) 19:52, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- I believe it is implied in the War of the Spark section --Firebead elvenhair (talk) 20:40, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- I am actually a bit torn by that. But the more I think about it I would actually prefer not to mention it. I mean the information is there, you can follow the link and discover that his lover is in fact a he and Ral might therefore be gay or bi. To write as trivia that he is gay feels kind of tokenizing. Yes it is true, but we don't write in the Serra trivia that she is apparently hetero. It is to easy to reduce a great character to one trait and diminish him by doing so. I am not sure if my train of thought makes any sense. - Yandere Sliver 20:55, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- Seems if it is mentioned at all it should be on the characters page. However I get what Yandere is saying. Also information is where? I must have missed it. --J spencer93 (talk) 21:02, 24 April 2019 (UTC)
- In the War of the Spark section: "he fretted over his missing lover Tomik" - Yandere Sliver 21:05, 24 April 2019 (UTC)

LMFAO.....i was reading the War of the Spark page....--J spencer93 (talk) 18:10, 28 April 2019 (UTC)

- I agree with the decision. If we need them in any future conversations/citations, these are Doug Beyer's two tweets on the subject: [1] [2]. Rather emphatic Word of God. --Corveroth (talk) 04:39, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- Without going off-topic, I must confess that saying that on every plane same-sex marriage is accepted, is a bit unrealistic. Moreover, a great way to promote acceptance is showing the results of intollerance, like you can't write in favour of peace whithout showing the ravages of war. Simply saying that there is no omophobia in all the Multiverse seems to be to simply ignore the problem, and not resolving it (by the way, speaking as a straight person, here). --Firebead elvenhair (talk) 13:51, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
- It is their world, and if they state that homophobia or any other idea or bias simply does not occur, we must take them at their word, until or unless they contradict that. Questions of realism, or literary or moral merit, generally have no place on a wiki dedicated to a specific topic (Wikipedia holds some broad articles on those concepts in the abstract). Maintain neutral point of view here, and direct anyone looking to provide commentary to reddit or another forum. --Corveroth (talk) 14:23, 16 May 2019 (UTC)
