Sand Warriors

Sand Warriors are creatures controlled by Hazezon Tamar.

Prerevisionist

Prerevisionist Sand Warriors are human, and Hazezon is their leader. Johan describes them as not being known for ther patience. After Jedit's monox dies, the Sand Warriors surround them and use a desert ray, one of their many modes of transportation, to bring Jedit and Johan to Hazezon.

Revisionist

Revisionist Sand Warriors are actually made of sand, and are modeled after Hazezon himself. He summons them using a short stick topped by a two-faced head, which he twirls between his palms while saying magical verses that mostly aid concentration and that end with "Stand, sons of the sand!"

The revisionist interpretation makes more sense, since it explains why Hazezon Tamar's card creates a token for each land you control as well as why they have Sand as a creature type.
