"Mad Genius" Erik Lauer is a former Magic: The Gathering player and notable deck designer. He is now a member of Magic R&D. Mark Rosewater asked Paul Sottosanti to put Erik on the design team for Morningtide. He was lead on the development team of Magic 2011.
