Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 is a digital Magic game that came out June 15, 2011 for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Windows.[1][2] It's the sequel to Duels of the Planeswalkers (2009).

Description

Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012 featured:[3][4]

  • New graphics [5] and music.
  • The new Archenemy format, where the player and two allies (players or AI) must work together to take down a powerful Archenemy and survive the extra powers from the Archenemy's special scheme deck
  • Ten new decks using cards from the latest Magic:The Gathering, including the upcoming Magic 2012 Core Set. Each deck offered 16 additional cards that could be unlocked.
  • The ability to modify decks to play the way players want. They could add or remove cards from both starting cards and earned unlocked cards for each deck.[6]
  • Fifteen puzzling challenge levels, with difficulties ranging from easy to hard including new Archenemy challenges.
  • Three- and Four-Player Enhanced Co-op Play. For the first time, players could invite their friends to partner up with them to take on the Archenemy or play against live opponents in Two-Headed Giant competition.

Purchasers of the game received access to a coupon which could be redeemed for an alternate art Frost Titan (Steam), Grave Titan (Xbox) or Inferno Titan (PS3).[7]
