Each floor of the tower house alchemists, mages and izzet wise men who theorize, try out and throw constantly miscalculated experiments between rooms. In the highest floor of the towe is located, obviously, Niv-Mizzet aerie. Even neither of the experiments of the tower's rooms are linked between them, the big dracogenius consider them as a part of a bigger unique experiment.

Nivix, Aerie of the Firemind is the Izzet guildhall and home of Niv-Mizzet.
