Hello,
I'm here because I want to use this format to explore the strategic and tactical levels of the game, in a context where my thoughts can bleed from one to another. I will start with two discussions: one is clock: which is a method of evaluating threats, and the second is statistical analysis: which includes sub categories of mana curve and mulligans.

Page name complaints
I noticed you moved several articles, like "Combo Winter" to be "Combo winter", with the second world not capitalized. Really, for consistancy's sake, both words should be capitalized -- they were right to begin with. VestDan 10:15, 16 April 2006 (CDT)
- There was a guide of some kind on this site that said only the first word should be capitalized. I believe it was written by Voice of All but I can't seem to find it now. Sigh, you're a mod anyway so whatever. --Fishysua 12:21, 16 April 2006 (CDT)

I, too, appreciated Wickedarkman's contributions in simulations and such -- all I ever commented on in those styles of articles was readability. Those sorts of articles definately should be here. It was his other pursuits, advice articles and combobrary and the like, that had no place here, and caused the contention. It's not even that these are bad concepts, they just don't mesh with what a wiki is about. For example, the 'loser's guide' page... if that was an article elsewhere, say on MTGSalvation.com, it would be a fine thing for a Magic Strategy article here to link to. But it should not be HERE.
- By all means, join the discourse (I don't see it in such dramatic/romantic terms as Wickeddarkman seems to) over on the salvation thread. Ideas are always welcome, and will be considered on their own merits. VestDan 13:56, 29 January 2007 (CST)

Where the hell have you been and for how long have you been in here these days??? I've been sneaking around for the last two weeks I think, out of a mix of boredom and nostalgy! I've been toying a lot with so many projects that the manasimulations have been cancelled! I still haven't analysed all of the data so far, but I have some stuff that I can link you too if you want to take a snif at it. I never got to talk with you about the diferences between evolution/statistics, and sometimes I've been thinking back at what you may have been able to teach me! I have had some pretty evil discussions about statistics with some people in a Danish forum, perhaps you will be able to clarify some of it (If you have the time! Recent deletions
Hi, sorry about the deletions of some of the dead-end pages on the wiki. I've since restored your page, and moved it such that the articles name falls in line with naming conventions (now it's 60 cards, draw first; also, to be honest, is there any way you could incorporate it into an article, because the name just sounds very awkward for an article - it's also fairly unlikely it'll be searched for).
About "Fundamental turn", this was on it:
Also abreviated[sic] FT.[sic]The average turn that a combo deck "Goes[sic] off" or you have dealt 20 damage or similare[sic] to kill the opponent.
The fundamental turn is used to measure one deck against another, and usually the deck with the lowest fundamental turn has the highest rated(?) chances of winning.

- Please don't capitalize the first letter of a link unless it's necessary. For example, "mana curve" will do just as good a job linking to page "Mana curve" as a link "Mana curve" will (see: "Talk:Mulligan"'s instance of "Mana Curve" - simply because it's the article name, don't capitalize it unless you have to, for example, when it's the start of a sentence). It's awful how there's a randomly, arbitrarily capitalized letter every so words. When creating pages, capitalize where necessary (example: "60 cards, draw first", as opposed to "60 Cards, Draw first"), generally the first letter of the article, and that's it. Dos and Don'ts
Hi, nice to see Magic theory articles being worked on again, but there are some issues I need to address:
- Categorize new articles: Categories exist to group pages on the same topic. In your case it is rather straightforward, just add
[[category:Magic theory]]at the end of the page. - Comments: Commenting your edits make it easier to follow the changes in the history. Especially when you're deleting or rewriting a large part of a page tell us why.
- Manual of Style
- First paragraph: Should contain the title set in bold along with a short definition or explanation.
- Paragraphs in general: Try to break the text into paragraphs, it makes it easier to read on the screen.
- Links: Use links! There is no use in writing articles if there is no way for readers to get to them.
- References: Ok, that is something we recently adopted, so a lot of articles still lack references. It is important though that the information here is verifiable, so links to articles found on reliable sources (magicthegathering.com, StarCityGames.com) are appreciated.
