Talk:Sarkhan Vol

This really needs an editing job done to it. The use of faux-casual vernacular ("'walks," for instance) and problems with tense changes are very distracting.

Sarkhan's Carthsis

Um where is the confirmation this is depicting the Meditation Plane? I have asked Rosewater directly to clear it up, but the buildings (nor the water) look like the Meditation Plane really. But then again...they don't look like anywhere else.--J spencer93 (talk) 05:09, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Ugin, Sarkhan, Narset and Ashiok all have a similar background in their art which looks different from the what is usually going on in the background. Ashiok is clearly on the Mediation plain from the art. Ugin is there for story reasons, so I always assumed that Sarkhan and Narset would also be there. Which makes sense since both have a strong connection to Ugin. I think the whole thing has more to do with general art direction, then with the exact backgrounds in question. - Yandere Sliver 08:05, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
Don't disagree with that (Narset however is confirmed on Ravnica). I just think its best left off or as Trivia until we figure it out. He is purposely avoiding answering this so there has to be some importance to it coming up. Sarkhan's card is rather odd, we know he has been to the meditation plane, but storyline wise (book and cards) there isn't any direct confirmation he helped take back the plane (there isn't any evidence Ugin needed help with this actually, the book hints he had control of it the entire time).--J spencer93 (talk) 18:40, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Playing devil's advocate for a second...narset's name does make sense in that regard. Her background doesn't match sarkhan or ashiok though, so if it's all supposed to be the meditation plane....art doesnt really help. But like i said...they dont fit anywhere else. Not sure why the freaking story didn't cover this at all...such a big plot point and it was just ignored.--J spencer93 (talk) 18:32, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

I mean at this point it is fair to say that the novel was very poorly received. And I think a very common criticisms is that important plot point are just not in the novel... Or anywhere for that matter. - Yandere Sliver 22:47, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
Right. They just skipped shit and honestly the novel is almost wrote like a recap, not an actual novel. And well, hoping the sequel fixes this confusion. Not sure why Rosewater won't answer about Ashiok or Sarkhan though. I'd say sarkhan's card id enough validation in the circumstances we are given. Narset and Ashiok honestly...idk. --J spencer93 (talk) 00:51, 12 May 2019 (UTC)
