Inherent ability?

Just wanted to note that Rosewater contradicts what I wrote here about NOT being similar to basic land types, but I believe he is either mistaken or being loose in interpreting the question - https://markrosewater.tumblr.com/post/185772835068/i-noticed-in-rapacious-dragon-that-you-keyworded . As I stated in the article, the rules say nothing about gain/loss of subtype causing a permanent to have the ability, they simply say that tokens created that way start with the ability; Rosewater has been known to focus more on a design perspective than a literal mechanical perspective, he didn't actually use the word "intrinsic" which is what the rules use to define how basic land types work, and I haven't seen a rules manager or judge address this one. - jerodast (talk) 08:05, 22 March 2022 (UTC)
