"True" Polymorph vs. "True Polymorph"

To elaborate on what I believe is a miscommunication from Maro, the source regarding True Polymorph appears rooted in the problem that Maro had lost track of (which happens understandably often, given the change in names during design) the card specifically named "True Polymorph".
The question is about "temporary or undoable transformations" and how "True Polymorph" does not abide by those rules: this is congruent to the card "True Polymorph" where the copying is permanent. However, Maro's answer is that "True Polymorph (where you don’t know the outcome of the transformation) has been moved to red". There is no uncertainty in True Polymorph, the card, but there is uncertainty in true Polymorph effects where the library is used to dictate the result. From this I believe the intent of Maro's answer was that the mechanic but not the card is red. Hence I rephrased the sentence to "classic" as to avoid this compounding issue. Unfortunately there are no follow-ups that confirm this to cite. 220.238.10.151 04:56, 20 May 2022 (UTC)

Polymorph and compensation

While there are some similarities between these two mechanics, I'm wondering if it's inappropriate to have the article named after one and have the other sit inside it. Perhaps it's pertinent to split them, as I don't know of any mechanical phrase that encapsulates both, and it's fairly clear there's not one that people looking for either will search for. There's the other option of calling the page "polymorph and compensation", which could be something that defies some policies. As another listing page, both sections stand to have much of their material cut; regex would involve "create" and "controller". Shield (talk) 23:29, 9 July 2025 (UTC)
