Staprion is one of the Llanowar elfhames on Dominaria.[1]
Description
The home of the king of Staprion is a glorious palace of white wood, grown through complex magics out of the crown of a quosumic tree. The tree's boughs spread wide, an enormous hand holding aloft the palace. Foliage riots across woodland murals and up tall towers with roofs of living thatch. Green pennants snap among the leaves. Vast courtyards, hanging gardens, blooming bowers — it is a beautiful court in the treetops.[1]
Unlike the palace of their king, the nomadic and militaristic Staprion elves live on the forest floor in the shadowy heart of the Llanowar woods.[2] Much of Llanowar's fearsome reputation has been earned and maintained by the Staprion.
History
The Staprion were devastated in the Phyrexian invasion; their ruling clan and their king Fhedusil were slaughtered, and their homes were destroyed. However, Multani, Eladamri, Takara en-Dal, and Lin Sivvi all came to the forest's defense alongside its native protector Molimo and successfully repelled the Phyrexians from the forest.[1]
After the invasion, the inheritors of Staprion have become even more rigid and less compromising, roving the woods in gusts, warrior bands of fifty to hundred individuals. These gusts don't coordinate well and sometimes fight amongst themselves.
