Reya Dawnbringer was one of the first Serra Angels ever created by the planeswalker Serra, and rose to become their foremost leader and champion during one of Dominaria's darkest times, the Phyrexian Invasion. A radiant symbol of Serra's mercy and the embodiment of the Realm's ideals, Reya was revered for her unwavering courage and the divine power she wielded in defense of the innocent and faithful.[1]

History

In the time before the invasion, Reya and many of her fellow angels heeded Urza's urgent call to abandon the safety of Serra's Realm and aid Dominaria against the growing threat of Phyrexia. Unlike the archangel Radiant, who rejected Urza's plans and turned radical, Reya chose to stand with those who would carry Serra's light into the heart of a world besieged by darkness. Among her many divine gifts, Reya possessed the rare and miraculous power to resurrect her devoted followers after they fell in battle, a blessing that made her revered among Serra's faithful legions.

During the Phyrexian Invasion, Reya fought valiantly on the front lines to defend Benalia, one of Dominaria's greatest strongholds of faith and civilization, but was ultimately struck down during the brutal war. Her sacrifice and legacy endured for centuries after her death. Around 4560 AR, her mission and memory inspired Lyra Dawnbringer, a great angelic leader who founded the Order of Dawn in Reya's honor—a holy fellowship dedicated to preserving Serra's teachings and the light Reya once carried into battle for the salvation of Dominaria.[2]
