UPDATED MARCH/2022

The Mono-Red Storm deck is a dedicated combo deck that wins through the Storm mechanic. Depending on slight variations, the deck may also be known as The Epic Gamble, Birgi Storm or Ruby Storm.

Overview

Mono-Red operates similar to the other Storm decks in the format (ANT and TES).

However, the main different consists of the Deckbuilding. Different from the other two, this version of Storm rejects the presence of other colors and goes all-out on a Mono-Red shell.

With Legacy's vast card pool, there is an arsenal of Rituals and Tutors that make this strategy possible and competitive.

For rituals, the most famous ones it has access to are Seething Song, Jeska's Will, Rite of Flame, Desperate Ritual, Pyretic Ritual and Manamorphose.

For tutors, the most famous ones it has acces to are Wish, Gamble and Burning Wish.

The deck is described as Mono-Red even though some may use Echo of Eons, Enter the Infinite or Peer Into the Abyss. The reason is that cards from outside Red are usually played without actually resorting to the help of any other color.

The game-plan may vary from being more Graveyard-Dependant to less Graveyard-dependant or Artifact-dependant.

A Graveyard-dependant list may resort to card like Past in Flames, Lion's Eye Diamond, Faithless Looting, Echo of Eons and Mizzix's Mastery (to use on a card like Peer into the Abyss or Enter the Infinite).

A less Graveyard-dependant list will likely use cards like Galvanic Relay, Reforge the Soul and Hazoret's Undying Fury.

Lastly, an Artifact-dependant list will tend to use cards like Helm of Awakening and Ruby Medallion.

There are competitive versions of the deck fully available without the usage of Reserved List cards. Such versions will mostly replace City of Traitors and Lion's Eye Diamond. The land can be replaced with Ancient Tomb, Sandstone Needle, Dwarven Hold, Crystal Vein, etc. Lion's Eye Diamond can be replaced with more rituals and perhaps Past in Flames (since the main reason for the artifact is to cast Echo of Eons.

Contemporary Decklists

This is a sample version of the deck. Notice how City of Traitors was replaced by Sandstone Needle.
