Jeremy Cranford
Jeremy Cranford is a former brand and art director for Magic: The Gathering at Wizards of the Coast.[1][2]
He is "portrayed" on the Unhinged card Fascist Art Director.[3] Like Persecute Artist[3] this is a reference to his supposed conflict with Rebecca Guay. Guay made a statement to "Rancored_Elf" on MTGNews that Cranford thought that her work was too feminine for the vision he had for the game.[4]
WotC felt compelled to release a statement clarifying their position — that Guay was never 'fired' but simply not contracted as a freelance artist for Legions (2003), and that her work would be used in future sets - while she was also excluded for Mirrodin block, Guay returned for the following blocks Kamigawa, Ravnica, Time Spiral and Lorwyn.[5] Cranford left Magic in June 2006,[6][7] and was replaced by Jeremy Jarvis.
