Maro's Crimson Vow teaser

Mark Rosewater gave his traditional teaser with the following hints.

First up, here are some things you can expect

• The following counter types:

Other

• The art of Cartographer's Survey is a callback to Cartographer, which was done by the same artist (Donato Giancola). One of her maps is a Dungeon map.
• Hullbreaker Horror resembles Awoken Horror, with the same power, toughness, creature types, and has the same artist (Svetlin Velinov).
• Ulvenwald Oddity transforms like the Werewolves in Eldritch Moon, but "merely" becomes a Horror rather than an Eldrazi.
• Shattered Sanctum has both parts of its name encapsulated within another card (Sanctum of Shattered Heights), and at 17 characters is one of the longest card names for which this applies.
• The "fang" art for Hauken's Insight (Jonathan Harker) resembles Harker as portrayed by Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker's Dracula.
• Headless Rider is an ancient folklore figure that also inspired Headless Horseman, most associated with the Legend of Sleepy Hollow.
• Boarded Window is a classic zombie movie trope; it proves more functional as a card than in those films. Spike Ripsaw represents the classic movie weapon the chainsaw, something slightly more technologically advanced than usual in Magic.
