Is it a keyword
It seems that this is not a keyword (e.g. infobox), but we can't be sure as long as the mechanic is not featured in the Comprehensive Rules. --Hunterofsalvation (talk) 08:03, 26 August 2021 (UTC)
- To me it's simply "a game term", like Target. It has an extremely specific mechanical meaning that should be clearly understood when it appears in the game, but it occurs within the text of other abilities so it's not a keyword ability itself, and as an adjective/adverb it's certainly not a keyword action. So yeah I'd just call it a game term. - jerodast (talk) 02:44, 17 July 2022 (UTC)
Perpetual with conjure and with copies
I recently saw a LegenVD video (his HBG draft during the VIP access) where he stated that a perpetual bonus to a creature with Double team would NOT apply to the "duplicated" card created by Double team. Unfortunately he didn't actually play the cards that way so I didn't see it in action. Does anyone have a source for that interaction? Also curious if Double team would pick up any other "copiable values" - I believe its tooltip just says "duplicate" so not super indicative how that's defined. And it's not the only "conjure a duplicate" effect by any means.
Questions to answer - Is LVD's claim about perpetual effects accurate? Does it apply to perpetual effects on cards duplicated by other conjure abilities? And does it apply to perpetual effects on cards that are COPIED by non-conjure copy effects?

- Copy effects — As it turns out that perpetual effects are not copiable values. Video of a token copy not retaining perpetual effects from the player point of view:
- Part A (sequence starts at 53m 46s) – Jim Davis summons a Flaming Fist Duskguard which gives a boon with "When you cast your next creature spell, it perpetually gets +1/+0."
- Part B (sequence starts at 54m 07s) – Jim summons a Priest of Ancient Lore which gets a perpetual +1/+0 from the Flaming Fist Duskgaurd's boon. The Priest does get exiled/returned with Oji, the Exquisite Blade at 1h 01m 32s, but this doesn't impact the token.
- Part C (sequence starts at 1h 01m 48s) – Jim casts Irenicus's Vile Duplication, targeting the perpetually buffed Priest of Ancient Lore. At 1h 02m 09s, the newly created token can clearly be seen as a 2/1, without the perpetual +1/+0 buff.
- It seems that perpetual functions as a continuous effect that lasts for the rest of the game and affects the card in all zones. If anyone finds some layer-based shenanigans, drop a note here for confirmation.--RivalRowan (talk) 23:56, 25 August 2022 (UTC)
