Challenger Decks 2019 is a set of four individual preconstructed 75-card challenger decks that became available on April 12, 2019, with an MSRP of $29.99.

Description

Like its previous installment, these challenger decks are built with more tournament-play competitive players in mind. The 75-card decks are geared toward Standard play for the Friday Night Magic player. They are intended to be playable and competitive at a local level right out of the box. All cards will have been previously printed in Standard and are Standard-legal.

The decks are available worldwide in English, with Japanese available in Japan.

Notable cards

• Ajani's Pridemate received functional errata during the Ravnica Allegiance oracle update, in anticipation of its appearance in Challenger Decks 2019. This errata removed the optional part of the card's triggered ability. This was done because tournament policy doesn't get you a penalty anymore when missing beneficial triggers, to make the card look and read better on paper and to improve digital play.
  • The card comes with the War of the Spark expansion symbol, and therefore actually is kind of a preview card.
