Template:Character Xenagos is a satyr planeswalker aligned with red and green mana. Native to the plane of Theros, he is the main antagonist of the Theros Block storyline.

History

Like the rest of his kind, Xenagos was once an hedonist, leading a care free life of pleasure without inhibitions. At some time, this kind of lifestyle led him to ascend, igniting his spark in the Bakkeia. With his planeswalkerhood, Xenagos was exposed to a grim reality: that he, ultimately, was utterly insignificant in the grand scheme of things, and the satyr philosophy of "tasting the world before Erebos rips your tongue" would not suffice. Following the trauma of this revelation, the satyr became progresively more ambitious.

Return to Theros

Some time later, Xenagos returned to his birthplane. His ambitions had evolved into a desire for outright godhood, to join or replace the pantheon of Theros, and so he began gathering his forces of eldritch, otherwordly monsters to attack the poleis of Meletis, Akros and Setessa. These attacks have become so severe that Heliod, the dominant deity of the plane, has tried to recruit Elspeth to deal with the satyr, whom he reffers as "usurperer".
