Kraken

Kraken are massive fiends from the deepest reaches of the ocean. Though many have tentacles and features similar to the octopus and squid, the only truly unifying features of the species is their massive size and destructive capability. They are not to be confused with leviathans.

The first card to bear the creature type was Polar Kraken in Ice Age. All Krakens are blue.

Trivia

• The legendary Wrexial, the Risen Deep is blue and black.
• Kraken's Eye is a lucky blue charm.
• Although essentially a Scandanavian trope, Krakens were added to the Greek flavored Theros-set because the film "Clash of the Titans" had changed the public perception.

Tokens

• Kiora, the Crashing Wave produces a blue 9/9 Kraken creature token.
• Reef Worm can create a 3/3 blue Fish creature token, which in turn can create a 6/6 blue Whale creature token, which can create a 9/9 blue Kraken creature token.
