Evasion Abilities are abilities on creatures that can restrict which creatures can block them. The ultimate example would be "This creature is unblockable", but there are several other Evasion Abilities, such as:

  • Flying (Can only be blocked by other creatures with flying)
  • Fear (Can only be blocked by Black/Artifact creatures)
  • Horsemanship (Can only be blocked by other creatures with Horsemanship)
  • Shadow (Can only block or be blocked by other creatures with Shadow)
  • Landwalk (Is completely unblockable if defending player controls a land with this property.)
  • Protection (Cannot be blocked by creatures with this quality)
  • Specific 'Cannot be blocked by' clauses.
