First up, here are some things you can expect
- The following counter types:
- Bloodline — Edgar Markov’s Coffin
- Croak — Grolnok, the Omnivore
- Invitation — Wedding Announcement
- Judgment — Faithbound Judge
- Omen — Soulcipher Board, Foreboding Statue
- Slime — Toxrill, the Corrosive
- Suspect — Investigator’s Journal
- A new mechanic that removes something never removed before — Cleave (rules text)
- A popular and powerful creature card from an Innistrad set gets reprinted — Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
- A new artifact token, along the lines of Clue, Food and Treasure — Blood
- A card that makes red Dragon Illusion creature tokens with flying and haste — Manaform Hellkite
- A mechanic that first appeared as a faction mechanic returns — Exploit
- A new legendary creature card that combines two characters that previously each had their own legendary creature card — Halana and Alena, Partners
- A new card that lets you cast certain cards off the top of your library — Cemetery Illuminator
- A new mechanic which is a mirror of an already existing mechanic — Training (Mentor)
- A legendary character returns, but now as a Vampire — Odric (Odric, Blood-Cursed)

- The art of Cartographer's Survey is a callback to Cartographer, which was done by the same artist (Donato Giancola).[2]
- One of her maps is a Dungeon map.
- The "fang" art for Hauken's Insight (Jonathan Harker) resembles Harker as portrayed by Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker's Dracula.
