Oliver Farrel used a grenade-like {card:Aeolipile} when trying to capture Tymolin Loneglade. In the short story Mirror of Yesterday in the Colors of Magic anthology, a Stromgald assassin, disguised as a Kjeldoran healer, kills Sabra with an Aeolipile.
In Earth history, the Aeolipile was an early steam engine invented by Hero of Alexandria.
