Rabiah the Infinite is a collection of a thousand and one originally similar planes, all refracted off of the original Rabiah during the Thousand-fold Refraction. The planes have since developed independently of each other. One, known as Dark Rabiah, has been taken over by sinister forces and is as evil a place as even Phyrexia.
There are many theories as to why Rabiah is so similiar to Earth's Middle-East. One is that the original plane may have been a parallel plane to Earth's Middle-East. Another says that Earth's Middle-East may have been modeled after Rabiah and the "One Thousand and One Arabian Nights" after a citizen of Rabiah came to Earth. It could also be that Earth was a refracted Rabiah that somehow drifted away from the others. However, official philosophy of Continuity Team is that Earth is not a part of Magic Multiverse.
Rabiah was the setting for the Arabian Nights expansion, and was based upon the "Thousand and One Arabian Nights" collection of stories.
