Tallibeth Tarngold, Talli for short, was Tagard Tarngold's only daughter. Her mother was killed by a Viashino. She holds his fact close to her throughout the book, but softens to Viashino by the conclusion.

She was a raiding party leader in Tagard's army and something of a tomboy to her supporters. She is described as attractive, with foreign curly hair to the Berimish people. Her soldiers were most notably the ones from Farson Hold, her family's rural keep. She is illiterate but learns to read maps.

She is one of the main characters in The Prodigal Sorcerer.
