I've updated the list of reprints using a different methodology from the previous version. Because the previous version was a scrapping of Scryfall, it included gold-bordered sets, oversized promos, Salvat and Foreign Black Border printings. It also over-estimated the number of printings because sets with multiple art versions are counted multiple times. I've tried to simplify the counts by getting rid of the following:
*Any [[gold border]] sets
*Any oversized card printings
*Any [[Salvat]] printings
*Any [[Foreign Black-Bordered]] or [[Foreign White-Bordered]] sets
*Limiting reprint counts to one per set (i.e. if a set has multiple art versions, they are all counted as one reprint).

Mystery Booster has way more cards than Fifth Edition, but I'm unsure that it really counts as a set, being all reprints. At the same time, Fifth Edition used the old Core Set policy of all reprints, so I'm really on the fence about this one. Any opinions would be appreciated. Breach of Rules
"Only legal card allowing for the breach of rules: Relentless Rats" -- That's not true. There are many breaches of rules around ie. Platinum Angel, and to a lesser extent Kobolds that are red eventhough they cost {0}. As with relentless rats they "break the rules", but are upheld by the "Golden Rule" (e.g. Cards trump CompRules). Otherwise I love this page. :-) --GWiZ665 19:11, 15 April 2007 (CDT)
- Oh... didn't know that. Guess it should be changed. I messed up the card totals a bit... I'll do an actual full count later... or something. --Xallium 19:59, 15 April 2007 (CDT)
- What as well? --Magic Mage (talk!) 09:33, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
- Pretty much ever Magic card "breaks" the rules or redefines the rules with them. --Magic Mage (talk!) 09:34, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
Totals
Ok the totals I have are a little off as they exclude alternate editions/revisions, starter sets, and banned sets. I tried to have my search on MagicCards.info include the legal Starter Sets, but it yielded no results (must have been too many cards rendered or something). I think the totals should include Total Absolute Cards (including banned + unglued + revisions), Total Cards (including banned [not unglued]), and Total Legal Cards (just... legal cards). However, can anybody think of an easy way to find this without a 'brute force' attack?
Btw, the Flying figure is imperfect. My search includes everything that has the text 'Flying' in it and the only plausable way to find the exact number of actual flying creatures is just to sort through every page. So where the edit is, there is an unseen number which lists the last page checked (on the MagicCards.info page) to remove non-keyworded 'Flyers'. (yes, I know this sentence is really confusing). Would suck if flying wasn't the largest eh? --Xallium 20:58, 15 April 2007 (CDT)
- Flying has to be the biggest keyword hands down :) --GeoMike 21:04, 15 April 2007 (CDT)
If you check the history on Flying, I actually tried something similar to this on each Keyword page, but seeing as every card with Flying written in Oracle was counted, it didn't work. (Even ~ deals damage to non-flying creatures was counted *sigh*). If somehow gatherer or magiccards.info could be hardwired to do something like ("Creature" + "Flying") + ("instant" + "sorcery" + flying - nonflying) and probably even more... Not an easy boolean. ;-) --GWiZ665 11:43, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
I'm almost certain that your color numbers are a bit off, as gold cards are counted as all their colors as well. E.g. Watchwolf is green and white and gold.--GWiZ665 11:45, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
- I watched (pun intended) and Watchwolf did not show up on the green nor white list, only on the multi-color listing. --GeoMike 13:40, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
Consenses about formatting
Ok. We need to come up with a decision about how we format some of these points. Do we do it like # (card) or Card (#)?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Xallium (talk • contribs) 22:52, 15 April 2007 (CDT).
- I like Card (#) --GeoMike 08:57, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
Hybrid
I added converted mana costs (using hybrid) as a whim, not sure I like it or not. What does everyone else think? --GeoMike 20:23, 16 April 2007 (CDT)
Lands
The lands total do not add up:
- Total lands: 332
- Gatherer Database: Results. Retrieved 06-17-2007.
- Basic lands: 10
- Subtype snow:5
- Non-Basic lands: 314
314 + 10 does not equal 332 hmmm

Link on Main Page?
This is a very interesting page, but unfortunately nothing links here. So how about adding a link to the main page? Oracle of Truth 00:38, 11 March 2008 (GMT)
- The other items under "Browse our Virtual Library" section on the main page are all Categories. Do you think it would look good to add a link to Category: Trivia. I love this page myself. Thoughts on where to put it on main page? --GeoMike 01:52, 11 March 2008 (GMT)
- The Virtual Library section is a good idea, but I would point the link directly to this page, because it has much more information. And maybe add a "see also: Category: Trivia" at the beginning of this page. Oracle of Truth 01:52, 16 March 2008 (GMT)
- Some time later, I disagree. FWIW, though. Whatever. --Magic Mage (talk!) 09:33, 1 November 2012 (EDT)
Converted mana cost
Hi GeoMike, I think you have been a bit overeager: While mana costs are made up of symbols, converted mana costs are just plain numbers (see Gaddock Teeg for instance). Oracle of Truth 22:57, 30 March 2008 (BST)
- Yes, your right. Now I need to figure out which ones to change back. I'll just change them all back. --GeoMike 23:45, 30 March 2008 (BST)
Highest activation cost
Unless I'm confused over what this part means, it isn't Stalking Stones; the invokers like Flamewave Invoker have an activation cost of 8. If it just means activation costs on lands, Urza's Factory has a cost of 7 rather than Stalking Stones' 6.

Most Cards In Set Topic
